Mossy Cowl

Knitted &Felted, hand painted Peruvian alpaca yarn,glass beads, approx. 17" circumference

The colours of this beautiful Peruvian yarn reminded me of our moss-covered rocks on the wet West Coast of Canada. When I saw an illustration of the technique of wrapping solid objects inside the knitting to create a 3-D effect when felted, I could not wait to get out my collection of small rocks! The felting and drying process was quite noisy but I like the idea that I did get a mossy cowl from some rolling stones.
